On the morning of September 18, the Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police said that it was verifying the case of a car with a blue license plate going in the wrong direction on Phan Chu Trinh Street (Hue City), causing traffic insecurity.
"After receiving the feedback, we conducted a review. When there is enough specific and accurate information, it will be handled in accordance with current regulations," said an officer of the Traffic Police Department.
According to this officer, it is not ruled out that the vehicle is out of use and has been liquidated, however, the owner has not changed to a normal license plate. However, violating vehicles will still be strictly handled, without exception.
Previously, at around 10:22 a.m. on September 17, people recorded a scene of a blue-plate car with license plate 73A-004.XX suddenly traveling in the wrong direction on Phan Chu Trinh route (Hue city), despite the " car ban" sign clearly placed in front.
According to the image recorded by the people, on the car door was printed the words "Bo Trach Medical Center". The fact that a vehicle with a license plate violated traffic laws right in the city center has upset many people.
The Road Traffic Law and current regulations do not make an exception for blue-plate vehicles, if they are not priority vehicles performing emergency tasks.
According to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, from January 1, 2025, the act of driving a car in the wrong direction will be severely punished, specifically:
Going in the wrong direction on a one-way street or a street with a "No going in the wrong direction" sign: Fine from 18 to 20 million VND, deduct 4 points on the driver's license.
If causing a traffic accident: Fine from 20 to 22 million VND, deduct 10 driving license points.
driving in the wrong direction on the highway: Fine from 30 to 40 million VND, deduct 10 driving license points.
