On the afternoon of November 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duc - Vice Principal of Hoa Trang Nguyen Private Kindergarten (located in Song Tri ward) - said that at around 9:00 a.m. the same day, a fire broke out at a stewed-up shop on the first floor, so it did not rise to the 2nd and 3rd floors of a 4-storey building.
Discovering the fire, the teachers and many parents evacuated 160 children from 7 classes on the 2nd and 3rd floors from the building, then took them to facility 1 to continue studying.
According to Ms. Duc, thanks to early evacuation, none of the children suffocated. The fire at the stewed-a restaurant started from an electrical short circuit in the socket, then was extinguished without spreading to the school's classrooms.
According to Ms. Duc, Hoa Trang Nguyen Kindergarten rents out a number of rooms in a 4-storey building of a household to organize teaching. In which, there is one room on the first floor as a school office, and 7 rooms on the second and third floors to organize teaching.
