On September 7, the Office of Son La Provincial People's Committee said that on September 4, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2247/QD-UBND, announcing an emergency situation for natural disasters caused by rain and floods causing damage to road traffic infrastructure in the area.
The above situation occurred after rains from August 1st to 10th and the circulation of storm No. 4 from August 22nd to 27th. Rains and floods caused landslides of slopes, filling longitudinal ditches, subsidence of the foundation and road surface; many locations appeared landslides, causing traffic congestion.

The Provincial People's Committee requested to maintain warnings, set up checkpoints, and divert traffic; arrange personnel, machinery, equipment, and supplies to urgently overcome damaged locations, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.
The Department of Construction presides over response, overcoming consequences, ensuring traffic on national highways and provincial roads and advising on issuing Urgent Construction Orders according to regulations.
Emergency measures are taken from the time of issuance of the decision until a decision announces the end of the natural disaster emergency situation.
