On November 5, Hanoi City Police said that Quang Bi Commune Police had promptly supported the verification and procedures to return more than 2 billion VND that had been mistakenly transferred to the account of a citizen in the area.
Accordingly, on November 3, Ms. N.T.T.H (born in 2004, residing in Quang Bi commune, Hanoi) went to the headquarters of Quang Bi commune police to report that her personal bank account unexpectedly received an amount of VND 2,050,000,000 with strange transaction content.
Realizing that the money was not her, Ms. H proactively reported it to the police for coordination in verifying and handling.
Immediately after receiving the information, Quang Bi Commune Police assigned the Area Police Team to conduct verification.
The results determined that Ms. H.T.Q (born in 1972, residing in Bac Ninh province) had accidentally transferred the above amount to Ms. H's account during the bank transaction.
Under the guidance of Quang Bi Commune Police, Ms. Q completed all procedures for checking, making statements and working with the bank to clarify the incident.
On November 4, at the headquarters of Quang Bi Commune Police, Ms. Q and Ms. H met and completed the procedures to return the money mistakenly transferred in accordance with regulations.
Hanoi City Police recommends that people who receive assets, money or unusual transactions should proactively contact the nearest police agency or bank for support and instructions on handling in accordance with legal regulations.
