On the morning of May 30, a collision between two container trucks and two cars occurred on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, near Phu Huu roundabout, paralyzing traffic for many hours.
At around 8:00 a.m., a tractor-trailer carrying two 20-foot containers was traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai when it suddenly crashed into a container truck in front. The collision caused both container trucks and two other 4-7 cars to continue to crash into each other, creating a chain of accidents.

At the scene, the head of the tractor was deformed, the remaining vehicles were also seriously damaged, blocking almost the entire road surface. Traffic on the highway congested more than 5 km. The functional forces had to temporarily regulate the vehicle from An Phu intersection, instructing the car to follow Mai Chi Tho and Hanoi Highway to reduce pressure.
By 9:00 a.m., the traffic situation gradually stabilized. Police said the tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries and the initial cause may be due to not keeping a safe distance.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is 55 km long, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai, and is one of the main arteries in the Southern region. After many years of operation, this route is being planned to expand the section through Ho Chi Minh City from 4 to 8 lanes to meet the increasing traffic demand.
