Initial information, the collision occurred between two trucks with license plates 29K-136.XX and 29H-631.XX on the emergency lane of Thang Long Avenue (from the city center to Hoa Lac).
At the scene, truck with license plate 29H-631.XX crashed into the back of truck with license plate 29K-136.XX. The cabin of truck 29H-631.XX was deformed and crushed, the male driver was trapped inside.
Speaking to Lao Dong newspaper reporters, the leader of Road Traffic Police Team No. 11 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) said that as soon as they received the news, the unit sent officers and soldiers to protect the scene and coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, Nam Tu Liem District Police to bring the victims out.
"The accident caused the driver of truck 29H-631.XX to die on the spot. Authorities are investigating the driver's identity. By 9am the same day, authorities had cut the cabin open to get the driver out. Traffic was slightly congested in the section passing through the scene," said the leader of Traffic Police Team No. 11.
Authorities are currently investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
