On January 5, an accident between a truck and a 5-seater car occurred on Vo Van Kiet Avenue (formerly District 1), causing the 5-seater car to overturn, blocking the road and traffic towards the center was congested.
At about 3 pm on the same day, a truck was traveling on Vo Van Kiet Avenue in the direction from Thu Thiem tunnel to Lo Gom bridge. As soon as it reached the area near the intersection of Tran Dinh Xu street, the truck suddenly rushed across the median strip and crashed head-on into a 5-seater car moving in the opposite direction.

The strong collision caused the 5-seater car to break its front and overturn on the road. The car driver was lucky to only suffer minor injuries and was quickly supported by passersby to be safely removed from the car. At the scene, the two vehicles involved in the accident were lying across the lanes, causing traffic congestion in the area.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Traffic Police force quickly arrived to blockade the scene, conduct traffic diversion and regulate vehicles to reduce congestion pressure. In the late afternoon of the same day, a specialized crane was dispatched to the scene to move the crashed car and clear the road surface for vehicles to circulate again.
Currently, the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional forces.
