According to initial information, at around 10am the same day, a woman driving a motorbike with license plate 59X4-1xxxx carrying two young children (about 6 months old and 6 years old) was traveling on Long Phuoc Street (Long Phuoc Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) from Long Thuan Street to Long Dai Bridge when she suddenly collided with a dump truck with license plate 51D-xxx.xx traveling in the opposite direction.
The strong collision caused both parents and children to fall onto the road. As a result, the mother and her 6-month-old daughter died on the spot, the older girl was seriously injured and was quickly taken to the emergency room by locals and the dump truck driver.
At the scene, the bodies of the two victims were lying in the middle of the road, next to the severely damaged front of the motorbike.
Some local people said that the victim's parents and children had just moved to live in the area of alley 100 Long Phuoc Street for a few months now.
By noon of the same day, Long Phuoc Ward Police in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Police's professional units were still blocking off the scene, examining and investigating the cause of the accident.
