On the morning of May 11, information from Nghe An General Hospital 115 confirmed that driver Nguyen Van Dung (residing in Nghi Son commune, Thanh Hoa province) - the driver of the truck carrying watermelon that had an accident in the early morning of May 10 - died at the hospital. His wife, Ms. Le Thi Thuy, is still receiving intensive treatment.
Previously, at around 5am on May 10, a truck driven by Mr. Dung when reaching the intersection between 72m Street and Le Nin Avenue (Vinh City) collided with a sleeper bus, causing the truck to overturn and deform. Dozens of tons of watermelon spilled onto the road. In the car at that time, there were also Mr. Dung's wife and a nephew.

Immediately after the accident, people nearby quickly helped take the victim to the emergency room and collected watermelon together. They have moved all the melons onto the sidewalk and called on people to buy and support.
Mr. Quoc Bao - a resident of Vinh City participating in the support - said: "At first, people planned to wait for the driver's relatives to come, but because it was sunny and the car needed to clear the scene, we started selling melons from more than 7am. Within just over an hour, all the melons were sold out.
After selling, people made a record, counted and counted the total amount of money earned as more than 65.7 million VND. This amount was handed over to the victim's family.
"By the evening of the same day, we received news that Mr. Dung was not going to survive. It was really heartbreaking. But in that sadness, humanity is still bright, Mr. Bao shared more.
The incident left strong emotions in the community. Many people and social networks continue to spread information, calling for support for the victim's family to overcome difficulties.
