On March 10, at the regular press conference of Quang Ninh province, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade said that the increase in gasoline prices is increasing transportation costs, logistics and input costs of many production and business sectors in the area. Accordingly, freight rates for goods and waterway passenger transport tend to increase.
High-speed train ticket prices on some island routes have increased compared to before.
Quan Lan - Van Don route increased from 150,000 VND to 200,000 VND/person/trip; Van Don - Minh Chau route increased from 140,000 VND to 180,000 VND/person/trip; Van Don - Co To route increased from 250,000 VND to 300,000 VND/person/trip.
Transport units said that the ticket price adjustment is to compensate for increased operating costs, especially fuel costs.

The Department of Industry and Trade said that although transportation costs have increased, the goods market in the province is basically still stable. The supply of essential goods is guaranteed, and no shortages or abnormal price fluctuations have been recorded.
However, some consumer goods have tended to increase slightly. Specifically, cooking oil, fish sauce, spices, and eggs of all kinds increased by about 1,000-2,000 VND/bag (or 1 kg). Some types of seafood such as snakehead fish, carp, squid, and grouper increased by about 10,000 VND/kg.
According to information from supermarket systems and distribution facilities in the area, in case fuel prices and transportation costs continue to increase, some consumer goods may be adjusted to increase by about 15-20% from mid-March 2026.
For production, import-export and logistics activities, businesses in the province are mainly indirectly affected by increased transportation costs, maritime insurance and production cost.
As of March 9, 2026, the province recorded 1 business directly affected, specifically Competition Team Technology Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) in Dong Mai Industrial Park. The business has a shipment of about 5,700 TVs exported to Dubai (UAE), worth about 2 million USD, which is likely to be delayed due to the impact of transportation and the international market.
In the field of tourism, the number of tourists from the Middle East region to Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular is not large, so the direct impact is insignificant. However, some accommodation establishments said that there has been a situation where tourists from the European - American market canceled tours by about 20% due to cautious psychology and increased international transportation costs.
