On the morning of April 14, at the first session of the 11th Da Nang City People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee - was officially elected to hold the position of Chairman of the City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031. Speaking before the People's Council (HĐND) and city voters, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his emotion and deep gratitude when he was trusted to be entrusted with the responsibility of heading the city government.
The new Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee emphasized: "This is a great honor but also a very heavy responsibility to the Party Committee, government and voters of the city. The trust of the delegates is a motivation for us to make more efforts, be more dedicated to serving the people and the development of the city.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that entering the new term, Da Nang is facing many opportunities but also many challenges from the context of the world and domestic economies having many changes. This requires the city government to innovate management thinking, improve management capacity with the spirit: "Say and do, do immediately, do right, do drastically, do it to the end and do it effectively".
To realize the goal of rapid and sustainable city development, Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung has set out 5 key task groups in the 2026 - 2031 term.
First, focus on handling land and construction problems according to the Central Government's conclusions; promote disbursement of public investment capital to create momentum for double-digit economic growth.
Second, focus on effectively operating Da Nang Free Trade Zone associated with Lien Chieu port, Chu Lai airport; forming logistics, industrial and modern urban economic axes.
Third, take science and technology, innovation as a driving force for growth; improve the investment and business environment to attract strategic investors at home and abroad.
Fourth, improve the quality of life for people, especially paying attention to socio-economic development in mountainous areas, narrowing the gap between rich and poor among regions.
Fifth, focus on investing in education, health, and social security; continue to maintain and promote the core values of the "5 no, 3 yes, 4 an" program so that Da Nang is truly a livable, peaceful and civilized city.
Towards the vision of 2045, the new Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed his determination to build Da Nang into an ecological and smart city, a center for startups, innovation and high-quality tourism in Asia.
