On August 11, the People's Committee of Mang Ri commune said that after organizing the appeal, the locality has received a lot of support from individuals and charitable organizations to help people overcome crop damage caused by the recent storm No. 3.
Up to this point, the Mang Ri commune government has received a total support value of over 1.8 billion VND, including 200 million VND in cash, 7,500 Ngoc Linh ginseng seeds worth 750 million VND, 500 ginseng seedlings worth 125 million VND, 150,000 coffee trees worth 750 million VND and 20,000 pine seeds worth 40 million VND.

Accordingly, for the Ngoc Linh ginseng seeds and seedlings, the locality immediately distributed them to affected households, near-poor households, and Xo Dang people to restore the ginseng garden.
For the donation, Mang Ri commune will use it to buy additional Ngoc Linh ginseng varieties to provide to people who suffered heavy losses.
For the coffee seedlings that have been received, in addition to supporting households affected by the storm, Mang Ri commune will review to provide more to poor and near-poor households.
Seed pine trees will be distributed in the buffer zone, contributing to creating a green space, serving medicinal plant cultivation and tourism development.
It is known that due to the impact of the recent storm No. 3, strong winds and continuous heavy rain for decades have caused severe damage to traffic works, schools, houses and production, with a total estimated amount of about 17.1 billion VND.
In particular, the affected crop area includes 2.9 hectares of coffee, 2.5 hectares of rice fields and rice fields, more than 26,486 Ngoc Linh ginseng plants were damaged, with a value of about 12.5 billion VND.

Of which, Ngoc Linh ginseng alone had about 24,600 fallen, broken and damaged trees/189 households of the Xor Dang ethnic group, with a planting age of 1 to 5 years.
It is known that Mang Ri commune (merged from Mang Ri, Te Xang, Ngoc Lay, Van Xuoi and Ngoc Yeu communes, Tu Mo Rong district, old Kon Tum province), Quang Ngai province is considered the "capital" of Ngoc Linh ginseng of this province.
Currently, Mang Ri's planting area is about 2,616.34 hectares, including a planting area for people of 227.12 hectares; and a planting area for businesses of 2,389.22 hectares.
