The communes in the west of the new Quang Ngai province have terrain mainly mountainous areas, where a large number of ethnic minorities live.
In addition to focusing on tourism development in Mang Den, Sa Thay, Kon Tum, the local government also identified the expansion of the area of cold-cationed coffee and Ngoc Linh ginseng cultivation as a key factor to develop the socio-economy and improve the lives of the people.
According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province, communes such as Mang Ri, Ngoc Linh, Dak Plo... have planted about 2,922 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng, reaching 65% of the target set by the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution.
From the beginning of 2025 to now, mountainous communes have also newly planted 161.3 hectares of Arabica cold-pressed coffee. The Provincial People's Committee aims to replant 1,000 hectares of cold-climate coffee, bringing the total area of the province to more than 5,000 hectares.

Over the years, growing Ngoc Linh ginseng has helped nearly 2,000 households in mountainous areas escape poverty. Many families have improved their income by growing ginseng and linking with ginseng production and trading enterprises and gradually getting rich.
To deal with the situation of fake ginseng and ginseng of unknown origin affecting the Ngoc Linh ginseng capital brand, the province has allocated more than 13 billion VND to invest in a DNA analysis system and ginseng composition testing equipment.
In addition, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment also assigned staff to the grassroots to guide people on the techniques of cultivating, growing and caring for cold-west coffee.
Growing cold-press coffee brings a stable and higher source of income than traditional coffee, aiming for sustainable development and meeting domestic market demand as well as export.
