On September 5, officers and soldiers of Sinh Ton Island (Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province) presented gifts to fishermen of three fishing boats that took shelter from storm No. 3 on the island, before the boats left the island to continue fishing in Truong Sa fishing grounds.
The leaders and commanders of Sinh Ton Island met, encouraged and gave gifts to the fishermen (each fishing boat 10 boxes of instant noodles, 10 national flags and 1,000 liters of fresh water).
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 3 , 12 fishing boats with 62 fishermen entered Sinh Ton island to take shelter.
During this time, the island's officers and soldiers regularly cared for and encouraged fishermen to overcome difficulties, continue to stick to the sea and fishing grounds, and provided 12 cubic meters of fresh water for fishing boats.
On the morning of September 5, storm No. 3 strengthened into a super storm, forecast to be very strong, with a high level of natural disaster risk and complex developments. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 87/CD-TTg dated September 5, 2024, directing ministries, branches and localities to focus on urgent response to storm No. 3 in 2024.
According to the telegram, it is forecasted that from tomorrow morning the storm will directly affect the Gulf of Tonkin with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 13-14, gusting to level 16.
From tomorrow night, it will directly affect the mainland of the Northeast and North Central regions of our country with the strongest wind speed possibly reaching level 10-12, gusting to level 13-14 and affecting deep inland, the storm is likely to cause strong winds, rising water, large waves at sea and along the coast, strong winds and widespread heavy rain on land.
Storm No. 3 is forecast to be very strong, with a high level of natural disaster risk and complicated developments. The Prime Minister requested a number of tasks.
