On June 13, it was noted that at the vacant land right at Suoi Sup bridge in Ham Kiem commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province, machinery was gathered by the construction unit to construct the overpass at Ba Bau intersection, which is the intersection between National Highway 1 and the access road to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway.

Many excavators and road rollers have been transported here. The construction unit's tent has also been erected.

The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Management Board (under the Thang Long Project Management Board) said that the overpass at Ba Bau intersection has just started construction. This is an additional item after the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway was put into operation for more than 2 years. The construction period of the package is 8 months, the total investment capital for the construction of the overpass and intersection is 105 billion VND.

The overpass is built at Km1717 + 513, National Highway 1 (Ham Kiem Commune, Ham Thuan Nam District) intersecting with the access road to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway and Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh Road. The winning bidder for the construction was Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company 368.

According to the approved design, the 17.5 m wide overpass will be built on National Highway 1 with a scale of 4 lanes. Under the overpass, a roundabout is arranged and the existing Suoi Sup bridge is expanded.
Add some service roads with the scale of rural traffic roads, add a transversal and vertical drainage system.

Phan Thiet intersection, construction of additional right turn from Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway with a length of 1.2 km.

Previously, in July 2023, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province proposed to add an overpass at the Ba Bau intersection to relieve traffic conflicts after the expressway opens to traffic. At the same time, the province also proposed opening more branch roads, regulating the flow of vehicles entering and leaving the expressway to ensure that vehicles do not rush to the intersection, causing traffic congestion on weekends and holidays.
