On August 13, the Appraisal Council for the feasibility study report of the Go Dau - Xa Mat expressway construction investment project phase 1 held a meeting to consider the project being implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). The meeting was chaired by Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam.

According to the feasibility study report, the Go Dau - Xa Mat expressway phase 1 is more than 28km long. The starting point of the project intersects with the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway in Phuoc Thanh commune; the ending point connects to provincial road 781 in Ninh Thanh ward. The road passes through Gia Loc, Long Hoa, Ninh Thanh wards and 2 communes Phuoc Thanh, Duc Thanh.
The project includes the main expressway and people's service roads, with a total investment of nearly 8,000 billion VND. Of which, state capital participates more than 3,100 billion VND, equivalent to about 39%; investor capital participates nearly 4,900 billion VND, accounting for nearly 61%.
In phase 1, the expressway is designed with a scale of 4 lanes, speed of 120km/h. The project strives to basically be completed in 2028 and put into operation in 2029. According to the plan, the project's capital recovery time is 22 years and 2 months.

At the meeting, the members of the Appraisal Council basically agreed with the feasibility study report. However, the Council requested the consulting unit to assess more comprehensively the capital plan, capital recovery time, materials supplied for the project and the technical infrastructure relocation plan.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with the consulting unit to absorb the opinions of the Appraisal Council, complete the feasibility study report, as a basis for the Appraisal Council to approve before implementing the next steps.
When completed, the Go Dau - Xa Mat expressway phase 1 is expected to form a complete transportation network in the Southern key economic region and a national expressway network with transportation projects being implemented in the region. Through this, the project aims to meet transportation needs, develop the Southern economic corridor and promote economic cooperation between ASEAN countries.
