Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee has just approved a plan to organize traffic to serve the construction of the new Gia Bay bridge.
According to the traffic organization plan, people and vehicles will be prohibited from crossing the bridge from 0:00 on January 25 to 24:00 on December 31, 2026.
The traffic prohibition scope is determined from the intersection with Bac Kan road to the point on National Highway 1B (old), about 150m from Gia Bay bridge towards Linh Son ward.

According to the traffic diversion plan, at the Bac Kan intersection and on National Highway 1B (old), functional agencies will organize barriers, install prohibition signs and signs, and guide vehicles through Ben Tuong bridge.
The remote traffic diversion sign system will be arranged at key intersections such as the central roundabout and Hoang Van Thu, Cach Mang Thang 8, Doi Can, Ben Oanh streets.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board to install a complete road signaling system and arrange guard stations at both ends of the construction site.
At the same time, coordinate with functional forces to organize traffic diversion and ensure safety during construction.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, in early December 2025, Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee issued an Urgent Construction Order for the Gia Bay New Bridge Construction Project worth more than 600 billion VND.
The project aims to urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters, enhance flood drainage capacity and ensure traffic safety at the location of Gia Bay bridge.
After the floods in October 2025, the Design Consulting Center of the Institute of Transport Science and Technology has deployed bridge inspection work.
The inspection results show that the bridge no longer ensures safe operation, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.
