Thanh Hoa - The elevator system of an apartment building has expired, continuously causing problems, causing hundreds of households to live in a state of insecurity.

According to the reflection of many households living in apartment building C5 (Hac Thanh ward, Thanh Hoa province), from the beginning of December 2025 until now, they have had to live in a state of anxiety because the elevator system has expired and often has problems.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc (born in 1959) said that apartment building C5 currently has more than 400 households living with thousands of people. Recently, households have been very worried about the situation of continuous elevators failing, posing a potential risk of insecurity.

Apartmental house C5 invested by HUD4 Investment Joint Stock Company, including 3 buildings A1, A2 and B, 11 floors high, has been in use since 2017. When buying a house, households all pay 2% of the maintenance fee according to regulations. However, many items are under little maintenance, leading to deterioration and damage, Mr. Ngoc reflected.

According to Mr. Ngoc, the entire apartment complex has 6 elevators but often has technical problems. In particular, since the beginning of December 2025, the elevator system has expired and has not been maintained, making households even more worried.

Currently, an elevator in building A2 is damaged and cannot be used. Residents' travel is difficult, especially for the elderly, children and households living on high-rise buildings.

It is known that on December 10, the Management Board of Apartment Complex C5 sent a notice to households, stating that the building management board has expired and has not yet elected a new board. Currently, all 6 elevators in the apartment building have expired. In particular, the lift cables for people in building A2 have dried up oil and fallen red, not ensuring safety for users and equipment.

In addition, commonly used technical infrastructure items such as backup generators, domestic water pumps, fire prevention and rescue systems, electricity, water, underground tanks, yards, corridor tiles, etc. also have some items that have expired according to regulations.

Given the above situation, if an unexpected incident occurs, there will be no residents' representative to decide and handle it. Therefore, the Management Board of Apartment C5 has temporarily stopped the operation of elevators in Building A2 to ensure safety.

Regarding this incident, the representative of Hac Thanh ward's leadership said that the locality has grasped the information and sent a specialized department to coordinate with relevant units to clarify, in order to ensure the rights and safety of households.
