Thanh Hoa - Among the 39 resettlement areas serving the North-South high-speed railway project, 6 areas have been completed and 3 areas have not yet started construction.

On September 19, information from Thanh Hoa Department of Construction said that the unit regularly updates the construction progress of resettlement areas and cemeteries to serve the site clearance of the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, passing through the province.

According to Thanh Hoa Department of Construction, by the end of August 2026, the whole province has 39 resettlement areas serving the project, with a total approved investment of about 1,740 billion VND. All 39 areas have completed the selection of construction contractors.

Regarding site clearance, 30/39 resettlement areas have been completed. However, there are still 9 areas in 6 communes and wards that have not completed site clearance, including Hoat Giang, Trieu Loc, Ham Rong, Dong Tien, Dong Son and Dong Quang.

Notably, the resettlement area of Van Hung village, Hoat Giang commune has just completed site clearance of more than 1 ha (reaching 22%). Meanwhile, the resettlement area of street 3, position 1, Ham Rong ward has only cleared more than 0.65 ha (reaching 9%). These are two areas with very low completed site clearance volume.

Regarding the progress of infrastructure construction, 6/39 resettlement areas have been completed, meeting the conditions for allocating resettlement land. The completed areas are located in Trung Chinh, Thang Loi and Nong Cong communes.

Currently, 30/39 areas are under construction, of which 13 areas have completed construction volumes of over 55% of the contract value. The resettlement area of Xa Ve village, Hoang Phu commune has only completed 45% of the construction contract value, with the risk of not completing before September 30, 2026.

In addition, there are 8 areas expected to be completed before December 31, 2026 and 8 other areas expected to be completed before March 30, 2027.

In particular, there are still 3 resettlement areas that have not been implemented, including 1 area in Hoat Giang commune and 2 areas in Ham Rong ward.

The total value of infrastructure construction in resettlement areas has reached about 405 billion VND, equivalent to 35.4% of the construction contract value.

For cemetery areas serving project site clearance, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has approved the policy of upgrading and expanding 16 cemetery areas and building 2 new areas.

Among the 18 cemetery areas, only 4 areas have completed contractor selection and construction deployment, including areas in Bim Son ward and Trung Chinh, Truc Lam, and Truong Lam communes.

To speed up progress, Thanh Hoa Department of Construction proposed that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee direct communes and wards to develop detailed plans for each resettlement area and cemetery project; closely follow the plan to request contractors to implement it.

At the same time, localities need to proactively resolve difficulties and obstacles under their authority, promptly report issues beyond their authority for consideration and resolution, ensuring the progress of completion as committed.
