Urgently deploy urgent measures
As one of the areas that suffered heavy damage due to storm No. 5, Yen Nhan and Bat Mot communes are making hourly efforts to overcome the consequences, supporting villages affected by flash floods and landslides.

According to the People's Committee of Yen Nhan commune, storm No. 5 and the floods after the storm caused great damage to infrastructure and people's property. The whole commune had 180 affected houses, of which 24 houses completely collapsed, 41 houses were severely damaged; there are still 2 isolated villages.
In Bat Mot commune, floods also damaged many constructions, houses, traffic and caused flooding. Due to complex terrain and interrupted communication, the detailed statistics of damage cannot be completed.
On August 30, directly inspecting and directing the repair of damage in Yen Nhan and Bat Mot communes, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem requested the Department of Construction and related units to mobilize maximum machinery, materials, and human resources to handle landslides and congestion on National Highway 47, ensuring traffic opening as soon as possible. At the same time, focus on overcoming landslides on rural traffic routes, avoiding isolating villages.

Functional agencies and local authorities must promptly support people to overcome the consequences: repair and clean houses, schools, health stations, restore internal traffic; arrange temporary accommodation, provide food, drinking water, and necessities for households that have lost their homes, ensuring that people are not hungry, thirsty, cold, or homeless.
The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to review all satellite communication equipment to reasonably reallocate to localities. Mr. Mai Xuan Liem emphasized: "For communes in the midlands and coastal areas that do not need satellite phones too much, they should be recalled and immediately supplied to communes in remote areas. When natural disasters occur, there is a loss of signal, there must be clear information to report promptly".
