On May 2nd, the Road Planning, Construction Inspection and Maintenance Center (Dong Nai City Department of Construction) said that it has a plan to repair and upgrade 4 national highways through Dong Nai city in 2026 with a total cost of more than 760 billion VND.
Accordingly, in 2026, Dong Nai will repair 3 national highways including: National Highway 1A, National Highway 20 and National Highway 56; repair and upgrade National Highway 51.
It is expected that the repair of National Highway 1A, National Highway 20 and National Highway 56 will be carried out in the third quarter of 2026; prioritizing construction in locations with localized damage that does not ensure traffic safety.
National Highway 51 alone is being repaired and upgraded for a 22 km long section, expected to be completed by the end of June 2026; the remaining 15 km section will be constructed by the end of 2026.
This is the largest repair and upgrade in recent years.
Dong Nai city has 6 national highways passing through, including: National Highway 1A, National Highway 20, National Highway 51, National Highway 56, National Highway 13 and National Highway 14 with a length of nearly 400 km.
From mid-2025, Dong Nai will be assigned to manage the above 6 roads. The reality is that the roads upon handover have many damaged and degraded points, causing traffic unsafety, especially National Highway 51 and National Highway 1A have a series of potholes, ruts, and very serious cracks.
Previously, in 2025, Dong Nai city had repaired National Highway 13 and National Highway 14.
