On July 15, Dien Bien Provincial Police organized health check-ups for 14 children selected from localities in the province for screening before being admitted to the "Children adopted by Dien Bien Police" Program.
Previously, from 42 cases introduced by commune and ward police, the Provincial Police reviewed and selected 14 eligible children to participate in the health check-up.
The students underwent clinical and paraclinical examinations and some necessary tests to comprehensively assess their health status, as a basis for considering admission to the program.
According to Dien Bien Provincial Police, the subjects considered for admission are male children of ethnic minorities in particularly difficult circumstances, who have completed the 5th grade program and meet the requirements for health, psychology, and education according to regulations.
The "Children adopted by Dien Bien Police" program is implemented with the aim of supporting children in particularly difficult circumstances to study and train in a better environment.
After nearly a year of implementation, the program has cared for and raised 28 students in particularly difficult circumstances and 12 international students who are children of police officers and soldiers in northern Laos provinces.
Continuing to select and receive more children to participate in the program contributes to expanding learning opportunities and comprehensive development for children in difficult circumstances, while spreading the humanistic meaning, spirit of responsibility and sharing of the Dien Bien Police force with the community.
