Quang Tri - The authorities have found the body of a woman swept away by floodwaters while passing through a culvert during floods in Huong Hiep commune.

On the afternoon of November 5, Mr. Nguyen Van Dat - Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Hiep Commune (Quang Tri Province) - said that the body of Ms. H.T.V (born in 1993, residing in Gia Gia Village, Huong Hiep Commune) was found at 12:30 am on the same day, at the head of Hieu River in Hieu Giang Commune, about 15km from the accident site.

Immediately after the discovery, the local authorities and authorities carried out legal procedures and handed over the body to the victim's family for burial according to local customs.

Also on the afternoon of November 5, the People's Committee of Huong Hiep commune visited, encouraged and supported the victim's family with 5 million VND. According to the commune government, Ms. V's family situation is very difficult, her husband does not have a stable job, her three children are still young, and are in need of help from the community.

Previously, at around 4:30 p.m. on November 2, Ms. H.T.V and another person on their way home from work in the fields, when crossing the overflowing culvert in deep water, tried to cross to return home. Despite warnings against crossing the spillway when the water is high, both decided to move. Unfortunately, the floodwaters rose high and flowed rapidly, sweeping away Ms. V, the person who was with her, who was lucky to escape.

Upon receiving the information, the People's Committee of Huong Hiep commune mobilized police forces, militia and people to organize a search for 3 consecutive days, expanding the scope along the Hieu River to neighboring communes.

Local authorities are continuing to mobilize and support the victim's family to stabilize their spirit and life after the painful loss.
