Dak Lak - The Provincial People's Committee has supported an additional 35 billion VND for localities in disaster areas to overcome the consequences of storms and floods and soon stabilize people's lives.

On November 8, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee announced that the unit had just issued a decision on funding support for overcoming the consequences of natural disasters caused by storm No. 13 in the province.

Accordingly, the province decided to supplement the 2025 target for communes and wards with a budget of 35 billion VND from the provincial budget to support localities in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

According to the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, after storm No. 13 made landfall, the initial estimated damage in the province was about 1,900 billion VND.

Some key traffic routes were seriously affected: National Highway 19C from Long Thach to Long Nguyen was deeply flooded, causing traffic jams; Provincial Road 641 from La Hai iron bridge through Song Co and the section from Dong Xuan to Tuy An Bac were also heavily flooded.

In addition, provincial road 643, provincial road 649, DH.39 and DH.32 routes through Tuy An Nam commune had many landslides. Up to now, the locality has urgently overcome the situation, and basic traffic is returned to normal.

In addition to the damage to infrastructure, the locality also had about 54,000 damaged aquaculture cages and 5 casualties.

Mr. Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - said: "After being allocated additional funding to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, localities need to use capital for the right purposes and in accordance with the provisions of law.

The People's Committees of communes and wards must publicize the use of funds, ensure the right beneficiaries, and avoid loss and waste. At the same time, promptly report the implementation results to the competent authority".
