The case of a teenager drowning and missing occurred on September 11th in Suoi Cai, Tan Hoa Khanh neighborhood, Tan Hiep ward.
According to the leader of Tan Hiep Ward People's Committee, the missing drowning teenager is P.M. T (born in 2009, permanently residing in Can Tho city; currently renting a room in Khanh Binh neighborhood, Tan Hiep ward).
Initial information, at about 8:30 am on the same day, P.M. T and two friends went from the boarding house to the Suoi Cai area (end of Khanh Binh 24 street, group 3, Tan Hoa Khanh neighborhood, Tan Hiep ward) to catch snails. At this time, P.M. T swam down the stream to catch snails, while the person accompanying him stood on the bank.
When swimming down to the stream area, P.M. T drowned and sank along the stream. Discovering the incident, people on the shore shouted to each other, trying to rescue. However, this teenager sank into the water and went missing. The incident was later reported to functional agencies.
Upon receiving the news, functional forces of Tan Hiep ward coordinated with units under Ho Chi Minh City Police to be present at the scene to search for the victim.
By 5:30 PM on the same day, in an exchange with reporters, leaders of Tan Hiep Ward People's Committee said that functional forces had not yet found the missing teenager. Search and rescue work is continuing to be deployed.
According to reporters' records, in the past two days, the old Binh Duong area experienced heavy rain. Cai stream received a very large amount of water from upstream. This area is also a construction site for the Cai stream dredging and reinforcement project. The section passing through Tan Hiep ward, in many places the water is deep and potentially dangerous.
