On February 13, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Linh - Political Commissar of La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station confirmed that at around 11:00 a.m. the same day, National Highway 15D to the border gate was reopened.
To clear the road, a crane was brought to the scene to move the wood in the container, then move the overturned vehicle.
Border guards also set up checkpoints and directed vehicles on National Highway 15D.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at 4:40 p.m. on February 12, at km 6 of National Highway 15D (in La Lay village, A Ngo commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province), a tractor-trailer truck traveling from the border gate lost control while going through a narrow curve. The vehicle overturned and blocked the road, causing a traffic jam. At the time of the accident, it was raining, the road was slippery, and the location of the incident was far from residential areas, making rescue difficult.
It is known that National Highway 15D to La Lay International Border Gate has narrow lanes, after a long period of use, many degraded spots have appeared. Quang Tri Province authorities have planned to repair and renovate the narrow curves, but have not yet implemented them.
