On February 3, the Quang Tri Provincial Customs Department said that since the beginning of 2025, import-export and immigration indexes in the locality have grown positively.
At La Lay International Border Gate (Dakrong District, Quang Tri Province), from January 1 to February 1, La Lay Border Gate Customs Branch carried out procedures for 7,348 vehicles entering and exiting the country, and 19,756 passengers entering and exiting the country.
La Lay Border Gate Customs Branch also carried out procedures for 244 import-export declarations, with a total turnover of 17.7 million USD; carried out procedures for 124 transit declarations, worth 4.6 million USD, and collected 35.1 billion VND for the state budget.

During the first days of spring (the 1st to the 4th day of Tet, i.e. January 29 to February 1), La Lay Border Gate Customs Branch carried out procedures for 134 vehicles entering and exiting the country, 433 passengers entering and exiting the country, 4 import and export declarations, with a total turnover of 425 thousand USD, and a total weight of goods of 2,000 tons.
At Lao Bao International Border Gate, during the 9-day Tet holiday (from January 25 to February 2), Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch assigned branch leaders and civil servants to be on duty during the Tet holiday, ensuring the number of staff to handle arising professional work, support and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses.
During this time, Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch has completed customs clearance procedures for 69 import and export shipments, with an import and export turnover of 1,279,079 thousand USD. There were 239 transit shipments, 2,265 vehicles entering and exiting the country safely and in accordance with regulations, creating the most favorable and fastest conditions for Lao workers to return home for Tet and return to work abroad.
With the growth in import-export and immigration indexes in early 2025, the Quang Tri Provincial Customs Department forecasts that import-export and immigration activities after the Lunar New Year 2025 will continue to grow positively. In particular, when some key traffic routes connecting the border gate with the seaport in Quang Tri province are invested in and built, it will attract more goods from Laos.
