Information from the Road Maintenance Management Board (Department of Construction of Lao Cai province), due to prolonged heavy rain lasting last night (July 3), the landslide at Km12+600, National Highway 4D continued to expand, causing soil and rocks to overflow and bury the road.
Meanwhile, the landslide at the Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Toll Station has not been repaired, causing traffic from Coc San commune to Ta Phin commune and Sa Pa ward to be completely cut off.
Immediately after the landslide appeared, the Road Maintenance Management Board deployed machinery and human resources to level the soil and rock to reopen the road soon.
By 10:00 p.m. on July 3, the landslide site had been cleared for motorbikes to pass; by the morning of July 4, a lane of road was cleared for trucks and passenger cars to pass.
As for the landslide at the Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Toll Station, the authorities are currently coordinating to fix it.
