The North - South Eastern Expressway Project for the period 2021 - 2025 with the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi component project has a total length of about 35.28km passing through Duc Tho, Can Loc, Thach Ha districts with an investment of VND 7,643.57 billion.
This section has 3 intersections: National Highway 8A intersection, Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district connecting Cau Treo border gate, Hong Linh town; Provincial Road 548, Trung Loc commune, Can Loc district intersection connecting Nghen town, Dong Loc Intersection Historical Site, National Highway 1A and intersection with Provincial Road 550, Luu Vinh Son commune, Thach Ha district connecting with Ha Tinh city, National Highway 1A.
The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang component project has a total length of about 54.2km, passing through Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen, and Ky Anh districts with a total project investment of VND 9,734.62 billion.
This section has 3 intersections including: Cam Quan intersection (Cam Xuyen district); Ky Trung intersection (Ky Anh district) and intersection in Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district.
In the phased phase, the two sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway meet the standards of a level 120 expressway, with a scale of 4 lanes. The completed phase is a level 120 expressway, designed speed of 120 km/h, with a scale of 6 lanes.
After the technical traffic opening, the two sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressways are expected to be put into operation on the main route on April 28, completing the project before June 30, 2025.
The North-South expressway component projects, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang sections, both invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board, were started in January 2023.
The completion and operation of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway sections will contribute to completing the North - South transport axis, facilitating travel between the Central provinces and the whole country; opening up new development space, which is an important driving force to promote the socio-economic development of Ha Tinh and the North Central region.
