On the morning of January 1st, Mr. Dang Van Dung - Director of the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway Project (under Project Management Board 7, Ministry of Construction) confirmed that the final 13km section of the project has completed all construction items and officially opened to traffic on New Year's Day 2026.
Thus, the entire 83km Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway has been opened to traffic, making an important contribution to completing and shaping the North-South expressway axis in the East.

Previously, in April 2025, 70.3km of Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway (section from Van Ninh to Dien Tho area) was completed and put into operation.
For the final 13km section, after a period of focusing on construction, overcoming technical problems and weather conditions, it has now met the conditions for traffic opening according to regulations.
The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project is located entirely in Khanh Hoa province, invested by Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Construction), with a total investment of 11,808 billion VND.
The route is 83.35km long, the starting point connects south of the Co Ma tunnel gate (Dai Lanh commune), near National Highway 1; the ending point intersects with the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway.
Currently, there are 5 expressways opened to traffic from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa).
Those are Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao, Cam Lam - Nha Trang and Van Phong - Nha Trang.
