On December 30th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province announced that it had issued a press release on the socio-economic and defense-security situation in December and the whole year 2025. According to the report, state budget revenue for the whole province in 2025 is estimated at 28,569 billion VND, exceeding the estimate by 57.5% and increasing by 11.8% compared to the same period.
In the economic sector, agricultural - forestry - fishery production maintained its growth momentum. The cultivated area is estimated at 337,411 ha; seafood output reached 300,838 tons, an increase of 12.9%. The concentrated planted forest area reached more than 25,000 ha. The industrial production index for the whole year increased by about 17%, with many key sectors growing such as stone mining, sugar, cement, and electricity production.
Total retail sales of goods and service revenue are estimated at more than 135,197 billion VND, an increase of 13.82%. Tourists reached 9.9 million, tourism revenue is estimated at 11,921 billion VND.
Regarding investment, the province has newly granted 76 projects, adjusted 198 projects, total newly granted and increased capital of about 40,858 billion VND, FDI exceeded the 1 billion USD mark. Disbursement of public investment capital reached 74.83% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
In the fields of culture and society, education, health, social security and preparation of Tet goods are being implemented. The plan to care for the 2026 Binh Ngo Tet for people and policy beneficiaries is being implemented. State management, digital transformation and preparation for the provincial People's Council meeting at the end of the year are being promoted, 32 reports and 44 specialized resolutions have been approved.
National defense - security, social order and safety continue to be ensured. Forces strengthen crime prevention and control, handle violations of firecrackers, ensure traffic safety and fire prevention and fighting before Tet 2026.
