Accordingly, on May 7, Cao Bang Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Ministry of Public Security) and Genestory Company to collect DNA samples from relatives of unidentified martyrs in the area.
According to the review results, the whole Cao Bang province has 42 cases that are priority for sample collection in this batch. These are relatives of the martyrs, including the martyrs' biological mother, Vietnamese Heroic Mother and elderly relatives with poor health, who could not move to the centralized sample collection site on their own.
To effectively collect samples, the Provincial Police have established two working groups, directly visiting each family in the districts: Bao Lam, Nguyen Binh, Ha Quang, Quang Hoa, Thach An, Trung Khanh, Hoa An and Cao Bang City. The collected samples include blood samples and biometric data for DNA analysis.
Despite having to move through many highland areas and complicated traffic, by 9:42 p.m. the same day, the working groups had completed the collection of all 42 DNA samples as planned.
On this occasion, the authorities also visited, encouraged and presented each martyr's relative with a gift worth 500,000 VND. This is a deep gratitude of the officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security For the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs and their families.
The collection of DNA samples has practical significance, contributing to serving the identity of the remains of martyrs has not identified the name, helping relatives to fulfill their aspirations to find their loved ones who have fallen because of the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. At the same time, this activity deeply expresses the morality of "drinking water to remember the source", the tradition of "gratitude" of the nation.
