Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung (30 years old, from Bac Lieu) said that on the morning of September 30, her biological son named Ty (nickname at home, 9 years old) and her daughter named Lung (nickname at home, 5 years old, Ms. Nhung's niece) went out to play near their house. By the evening of the same day, the family did not see the two children return so they went out to look for them. Many days later, the two children still had not returned home, making the family very worried.
Ms. Nhung said that she and her husband have 3 children. Because she works in Long An, Ms. Nhung's children are sent to her biological mother, Ms. Kim Phuong (60 years old), who rents a room on Tran Dai Nghia Street (Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) to look after.
Baby Ty is Nhung’s eldest child. Baby Lung is the youngest child of Nhung’s half-brother. Nhung’s brother lives a short distance from Phuong’s place but in Tan Nhut commune (Binh Chanh district). Due to family circumstances, Nhung’s children and her brother cannot go to school. Nhung’s child also does not have a birth certificate.
According to Nhung’s family, the children have never gone far away. Every time they leave the house, they ask adults. Since losing contact with their family, Nhung had to quit her job to look for her children everywhere. Whenever she heard information about seeing a boy or girl who looked like her children or grandchildren in a certain area, Nhung would go looking for them. Nhung’s relatives also reported to the local police to help search for the two children, but so far they have not been found.
Currently, Le Minh Xuan Commune Police and Tan Nhut Commune Police (Binh Chanh District) have received reports from people about the case of a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl who have lost contact with their family for many days.
