From July 1, 2025, Saigon Ward (HCMC) officially came into operation on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Ben Nghe Ward and a part of the natural area and population of Da Kao Ward, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward.
Saigon Ward is located in the historical, political, economic and cultural center of District 1 (old) - where many iconic and heritage-value works are concentrated.
The presence of Saigon ward in the heart of the new Ho Chi Minh City is considered a blend of tradition and modernity, between historical moments and a dynamic future. This is not just a simple administrative name, but a reminder of the ancient land of Saigon, and at the same time a symbol of pride and the constant development of a super city entering a new era.
To mark the memorable milestone of the ward in particular and the whole country in general, the People's Committee of Saigon Ward launched a logo composition contest with the theme "Saigon Ward - convergence and brilliance".
Any individual, organization, or unit across the country can participate and can submit many entries. The entries must be original, unpublished, not copied, and not arising from any existing symbols.
The large number of participants can participate to promote the creativity of all classes of people, especially artists, designers, and the creative community to join hands in building the local image.
At the same time, the new image will demonstrate a modern management mindset, in line with the digital transformation orientation and improve the quality of service for the people of Ho Chi Minh City in the new development stage.
The contestants' logos need to be highly general, ensuring uniqueness, easy identification, reflecting nature, people, cultural identity, historical traditions, and development process of the new ward.
The entries must be submitted directly to the People's Committee of Saigon Ward (Cultural - Social Department, No. 47 Le Duan, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) or submitted via email: hoithithietkelogosaigon@gmail.com.
The A prize winning work will be selected as the new symbol of Saigon ward and receive a certificate of merit and a prize worth 30,000,000 VND.
In addition to the A prize, the prize structure also includes 2 Encouragement prizes, each worth 10,000,000 VND.
The time to register and receive entries is until July 20, 2025. It is expected that the contest results will be announced after August 1, 2025.
The contest is expected to create a visual mark clearly demonstrating the central position, dynamism, creativity, while preserving the cultural and historical identity and moving towards a modern administration in the new era of Saigon ward.
