Phu Canh commune (Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province) was established on the basis of merging two communes of Phu Hoa and Canh Hoa. On February 28, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Chairman of Phu Canh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thi Tinh said that after the arrangement, the two old administrative headquarters will be used for officials to continue working.
The old Canh Hoa commune headquarters was arranged for the Party and mass organizations to use. The old Phu Hoa commune headquarters was used by the People's Council and People's Committee of the commune. The total number of civil servants and full-time staff of the commune is currently 31. Arranging work at two headquarters sometimes causes inconvenience because they have to move to a common meeting, because the distance between the two places is about 2km.
In Le Thuy district, some communes have also been merged according to the plan, Ngu Thuy commune was established from Ngu Thuy Trung commune and Ngu Thuy Nam commune. Truong Thuy commune receives the entire area and population of Van Thuy commune.
Chairman of Le Thuy District People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Hoa said that after the arrangement, the communes will take turns working between the two old headquarters to ensure convenience for the people. The working schedule at each headquarters will be publicly announced by the People's Committee of the commune.
Ngu Thuy commune alone is in the process of building a new headquarters in a more convenient location for the people. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
The People's Committee of Le Thuy district will hold an official meeting to discuss solutions to handle surplus headquarters to avoid wasting public assets.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, the problem of surplus administrative headquarters is being studied by localities for appropriate solutions. In the immediate future, the People's Committees at the commune level will take advantage of the old headquarters to ensure uninterrupted administrative activities. In the long term, each new administrative unit will have only one working headquarters.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee requested localities to create favorable conditions for people in the process of converting related documents from the old administrative unit to the new administrative unit, ensuring the settlement of procedures quickly, avoiding inconvenience.
