On February 28, information from the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that at around 8:00 a.m. the same day, the unit's functional forces found one of the two 6th grade male students who drowned in the Chu River on February 27.

The victim was identified as D.N.Q (residing in Xuan Tin commune, Tho Xuan district).
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 3:00 p.m. on February 27, local authorities and functional forces received a report that D.N.Q and T.V.Q.T (6th grade students) had drowned on the Chu River (the section bordering Xuan Hoa and Xuan Tin communes, Tho Xuan district).
After receiving the news, the authorities arrived at the scene to deploy a search and rescue plan. At the scene of drowning, the riverbed was wide, the water hole was deep, and the weather was cold, making the search and rescue work difficult.
After many hours of searching, the authorities found D.N.Q and are continuing to search for the remaining victim.
