On July 29, a source said that Lam Dong Provincial Police force is coordinating with Hiep Thanh Commune Police, Lam Dong and other authorities to investigate the discovery of the body of a 2-year-old girl in the forest cover area.
Accordingly, at around 1:00 p.m. the same day, a resident went to the forest area in Hiep Thanh commune to pick mushrooms and discovered the girl's body in the process of decomposing. This person later reported the incident to the authorities.
Upon receiving the report, the police force of Hiep Thanh commune and Lam Dong province were present to block off the scene, organize an investigation, and clarify the incident. Initially, the authorities identified the victim as Tran Pham Nhat Han (2 years old), who has been missing since July 5. The area where the body was discovered was about 2km from the victim's grandmother's house.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Tran Pham Nhat Han was the daughter of Ms. Pham Thi Thao Vi (24 years old). Ms. Vi and her husband work in Da Lat, Lam Dong, so they should send their child to their grandmother in Phi Nom village, Hiep Thanh commune for direct care.
On the morning of July 5, while Han was playing at home, her grandmother went to the garden to work. At 11am the same day, Han's grandmother went into the house but could not see her granddaughter, so she shouted and searched for her.
After receiving the report, the authorities of Hiep Thanh commune stepped in to verify and arrange forces to search but to no avail.
