On December 22, a leader of the People's Committee of Quang Dien commune, Krong Ana district, Dak Lak province confirmed that authorities had searched for and recovered the bodies of a mother and child from the Krong Ana river.
Previously, at around 11:00 a.m. on December 21, the authorities of Quang Dien commune received information about a suspected suicide case of jumping off a bridge in village 11, Quang Dien commune.
Approaching the scene, the rescue team discovered a motorbike and two pairs of sandals belonging to a woman and a child on the bridge.
Through inspection, the authorities verified that Ms. N.T.P (33 years old), residing in Quang Dien commune, and her 4-year-old son were missing.
Immediately afterwards, the authorities used boats, small boats and many other means to search for Ms. P and her child.
"At around 5:30 p.m. this afternoon (December 22), authorities recovered the bodies of a mother and child from the Krong Ana River. The location where the bodies were found is about 4km from the suspected bridge jumping point," said a leader of the People's Committee of Quang Dien Commune.
