On May 27, Ninh Chau Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that functional forces had found the body of Mr. M.V. D (born 1972, residing in Cua Thon village, Ninh Chau commune) after nearly a day of missing at sea.
According to initial information, at about 9 am on May 27, Mr. D's body was found at sea, not far from the location where the victim's fishing boat was discovered.
Currently, functional forces are carrying out procedures to hand over the body to the family for funeral arrangements.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 5 pm on May 26, the combat duty shift of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command received a report from Nhat Le Border Guard Station about a fisherman discovering a small fishing boat under 6m drifting at sea but no one was there.
Specifically, at about 2 pm on the same day, Mr. Truong Van Nguy (resident of Cua Thon village, Ninh Chau commune) while fishing discovered a fishing boat about 1.5 nautical miles east of Cua Thon village beach.
Through verification, functional forces determined that this was Mr. M.V. D's boat, engaged in fishing net fishing. Mr. D left the port at 9 am on May 26 in the coastal area of Cua Thon village and went to sea alone.
