On April 14, the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province informed that the province had just had a plan to support small traders at the old Drang market (Pong Drang town, Krong Buk district) to relocate the market and build a green park project in the area.
Previously, the People's Committee of Krong Buk district had documents sent to the competent authorities to raise difficulties and obstacles in developing a support plan for small businesses at the old Drang market.
The District People's Committee also offers 2 options for supporting and compensating for small businesses. In particular, Option 2 is considered to be more optimal when applying the current law provisions for compensation and support.
The district calculates the support level for small businesses more than 4.4 billion dong. In particular, the district budget is more than 3.1 billion dong and nearly 1.3 billion dong of the province.
With the proposal from the People's Committee of Krong Buk district, the provincial People's Committee reported and was agreed by the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee to support Krong Buk district nearly 1.3 billion dong to support the relocation of old market people.
A district leader Krong Buk said: "The district has directed the relevant units to relocate small businesses from the old Drang market to be completed in April 2025. The relocation of small businesses in the old market encountered many problems but the district would be determined to deploy.
Over the past 3 years, Lao Dong Newspaper has had many articles reflecting the aforementioned situation.
In 2017, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province assigned a private enterprise to invest in building a new Drang market in Krong Buk district with a total budget of over 37 billion dong. In September 2021, Pong Drang market was completed with 312 kiosks, other items to ensure current regulations. However, the new market was built but very few people moved to trade because the temporary market still exists.
Over the past 2 years, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Dak Lak province have also sent a written direction to remove difficulties and problems for the above incident. However, the People's Committee of Krong Buk district, for many different reasons, has not completely handled the incident.
On December 13, 2023, the authorities of Krong Buk District People's Committee arranged forces to organize the clearance of spontaneous markets, business points not in accordance with the planning and in contravention of regulations in Pong Drang town.
However, by the end of January 2024, the situation of temporary markets, illegal business points has not been completely resolved, greatly affecting the legal rights of more than 80 small businesses in the area.
