Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Dao Quang Khai has just signed Decision No. 840/QD-UBND to establish a Standing Group 24/7 to implement the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects (abbreviated as the Working Group).
According to the Decision, the Working Group is responsible for reviewing and directly resolving problems and difficulties related to site clearance, resettlement and other work related to the implementation of the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects.
The Head of the Working Group is the Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for all activities of the Working Group during the implementation process to ensure the planned timelines.
The members of the Working Group work in a part-time manner; are allowed to use the organizational apparatus, cadres, civil servants, and public employees, and are allowed to use the seal of the agency where they work to organize the implementation of tasks under the responsibility of their agency and assigned tasks.
The Department of Construction is the standing agency of the Working Group, responsible for performing related tasks during the implementation of the Projects; directly monitoring and synthesizing reports on the implementation of the Projects. The seal of the Department of Construction is used during the implementation of related tasks.
The working group self-dissolved after completing the task.
About 40 km from Hanoi, Gia Binh International Airport (Bac Ninh) started construction in December 2024 with a total area of nearly 1,900 hectares. According to the plan, the airport will be basically completed and initially put into operation from the end of 2026 to serve the 2027 APEC Summit.
By 2050, the airport's capacity will reach about 50 million passengers/year and 2.5 million tons of cargo/year.
The investment project to build a road connecting Gia Binh airport to Hanoi capital (section passing through Bac Ninh province) has a total length of 27.7km passing through 8 communes and wards, including: Trung Kenh commune, Luong Tai commune, Gia Binh commune, Lam Thao commune, Tram Lo ward, Mao Dien ward, Thuan Thanh ward, Tri Qua ward (Bac Ninh province).
The route is invested according to the standards of a grade I plain road, with a design speed of 120km/h, and a parallel road with a speed of 60-80km/h. The construction scale according to the plan is 10 lanes and there are roads on both sides. The total investment is over VND 47,607 billion.
The starting point of the project is at km0 at the eastern intersection of the road connecting to Gia Binh airport, in Trung Kenh commune (Bac Ninh). The end point is about km27+700 at the beginning of the Duong River bridge, Tri Qua ward (Bac Ninh), bordering Phu Dong commune, Hanoi.
On the route, 6 cross-over bridges are arranged at locations intersecting with provincial roads, national highways or planned roads.
