Fastest item of Nguyen Trai bridge
The project to invest in the construction of Nguyen Trai bridge and urban embellishment in the surrounding area is a key project of the city in 2024, belonging to group A, special-grade traffic works with a total investment of more than 6,235 billion VND. The main bridge section is 550.6 m long; the length of the approach bridge on Thuy Nguyen side is 459 m, and the length of the approach bridge on Ngo Quyen side is 466.8 m.
The bidding package for the construction of approach bridges, approach roads and intersections has a contract value of 1,435 billion VND, started on December 18, 2024, and is expected to be completed in December 2026. The project contractor is the Joint Venture of Thang Long Corporation - JSC, VNCN E&C Technical Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, Thang Long Bridge 3 JSC and HJC Construction Investment Group JSC.
According to information from the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor), regarding the approach bridge section, currently, units are simultaneously deploying 14 bored pile and bridge pier construction teams on both sides of Thuy Nguyen and Ngo Quyen. Progress by early April is to complete 322/340 bored piles, 21/29 abutments, branch bridge piers, 20/20 abutments, approach bridge piers, 21/26 shielding walls; 20 shielding wall nails, 11 hollow bridge abutment beams, 11 hollow bridge abutment beams... The approach road section has also completed the K98 soil foundation embankment construction, and is currently constructing type 2 gravel aggregate.
The total contract value to date has reached more than 80% of the contract value, which is the item with the fastest progress in the entire Nguyen Trai bridge project.
Focusing on occupational safety and health
According to Mr. Dinh Duc Duy - representative of the supervision consulting unit, the progress of the approach bridge and approach roads basically closely follows the set progress, striving to complete all approach bridges before September 2, 2026.
In addition to ensuring project progress, occupational safety and health are also focused on by units. According to representatives of supervision consultants, more than 200 workers are currently working 3 shifts/day at the construction site. Workers are fully equipped with personal protective equipment and safety checks before each shift. Construction units strictly comply with technical procedures, install warning systems, barriers and closely monitor dangerous areas.
In addition, strengthen inspection and handling of violations and develop timely incident response plans to minimize risks for workers.
Mr. Bui Van Khanh - a bridge construction worker - said that labor safety and hygiene work is strictly inspected by contractors and supervisory units. Thanks to that, workers also raise their awareness of compliance, voluntarily equip themselves with protective equipment and necessary knowledge and skills to prevent all risk factors.
It is known that in addition to the bidding package for the construction of approach bridges, approach roads and intersections, the cable-stayed bridge and Nguyen Trai - Le Hong Phong underpass items are also being accelerated, striving to bring the entire project to completion on September 2, 2027.
