On June 25, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Hue City deployed a plan to use ground-penetrating radar to survey and assess information about collective martyrs' graves in Phu Xuan ward.
The activity was carried out from June 25 to 28, with the coordination of the Institute of Design (General Department of Logistics and Technology, Ministry of National Defense), Hue City Military Command and related units.
According to the plan, functional forces will conduct surveys and scans at 3 locations believed to have information about collective martyrs' graves, including: Cua Chanh Tay area (area of about 200m2), Cua Dong Ba (150m2) and Cua Hau (1,000m2) belonging to Phu Xuan ward.
Through ground-penetrating radar equipment, units will collect data, analyze unusual signs underground, compare with historical documents, witnesses and related information sources to verify and clarify the possibility of the existence of collective martyrs' graves.
The Hue City Steering Committee said that the survey aims to consolidate the scientific basis to serve the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains, contributing to bringing heroic martyrs back to their comrades, homeland and families soon.
This is an activity within the Campaign "500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", with profound humanistic meaning, expressing the nation's "When drinking water, remember the source" morality.
