On the afternoon of August 28, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed a resolution on the investment policy for the project to complete the construction of the Go Cong intersection and the connecting route from Hanoi Highway to the Go Cong intersection on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.
The project includes the construction of a new road about 5.9 km long and the Go Cong intersection.
The route connecting Hanoi Highway - Go Cong Intersection will be built in 2 parallel routes, with a total of 6 lanes (3 lanes on each side), divided into 3 sections.
Section 1 from Tram 2 Intersection to Le Van Viet Street is 107 m wide; Section 2 from Le Van Viet Street to Go Cong Bridge is 107 m wide; Section 3 from Go Cong Bridge to Go Cong Intersection is 120 m wide, in accordance with the intersection planning.
Go Cong intersection is designed as a level cross-section, 4 floors, combined with a round island. The project will build branches N1, N2, N3, N4 (each branch has 2 lanes) and invest in an additional 4-lane overpass on Ring Road 3 to complete according to the plan.
Build an overpass at the intersection of Le Van Viet Street and D1 Street (each location will have 2 units, each unit will have 3 lanes); Go Cong Canal Overpass (2 units, each unit has 3 lanes); Trau Trau Canal Overpass: 4 units (including 2 units with 3 lanes and 2 units with 4 lanes).
The total cost of the project is more than VND 12,400 billion, all from the Ho Chi Minh City budget.
The project will be implemented in Tang Nhon Phu, Long Binh, Long Phuoc wards, from 2025 to 2029.

After being approved, the project will conduct compensation and site clearance from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026. The project started in the first quarter of 2027 and was completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.
When completed, the project will directly connect Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2, improve the efficiency of exploiting regional traffic infrastructure, clear bottlenecks and reduce increasing traffic pressure at the eastern gateway of the city. At the same time, the project also contributes to renovating and enhancing the urban appearance of the surrounding area.
