According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Election Commission, as of 7 pm on March 15, the voter turnout in the whole city reached 96.67%.
Statistics show that 161/168 communes, wards, and special zones have a voter turnout rate of over 90%, of which 31 communes and wards recorded 100% of voters participating in voting. No polling area has a voter turnout rate below 50%.
In this election, Ho Chi Minh City voters elected 38 National Assembly deputies from 64 candidates. This is the highest number of elected deputies in the country, and an increase of 8 deputies compared to the previous term. In the candidate list, there are 24 people with doctoral degrees.
For the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, voters will choose 125 delegates out of a total of 208 candidates.
According to regulations, the National Election Council will announce the election results and the list of people elected as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term no later than March 25.
On March 15, sharing with the press, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the National Election Council - said that it is expected that on March 22, the election results can be announced and a press conference will be held publicly with the people nationwide about the results of selecting National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels with a very positive spirit to prepare for the first session of the 16th National Assembly in early April.
