On September 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction announced the adjustment of traffic organization on Truong Chinh, Tan Ky Tan Quy and Huynh Van Gam streets to serve the construction of ST9 station (Ba Queo station) belonging to Metro line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong).
On Truong Chinh street in the Ba Queo station area, a part of the roadway will be barricaded to serve construction.
Vehicles are still allowed to circulate through this area, but the Department of Construction recommends vehicles traveling from An Suong intersection to the city center to choose alternative routes to limit congestion.
Specifically, vehicles can follow the route Truong Chinh - Che Lan Vien - Nguyen Huu Dat - Le Trong Tan - Tan Ky Tan Quy - Truong Chinh.
Another route is Truong Chinh - Ho Dac Di - Huynh Van Gam - Tan Ky Tan Quy - Truong Chinh.
Notably, from September 16, cars are banned from circulating on Tan Ky Tan Quy street in the direction from Cong Hoa street to Le Trong Tan street.
On Huynh Van Gam street, cars are also prohibited from circulating in the direction from Tan Ky Tan Quy street to Ho Dac Di street.

The traffic adjustment takes place in the context that many areas on Metro Line 2 are being constructed, leading to changes in traffic on key routes.
Previously, from August 13, to serve the construction of Metro Line 2, all cars were banned from circulating on Cach Mang Thang Tam street in the direction from Ly Thuong Kiet street to 3 Thang 2 street.
In the Northwest area, the Truong Chinh - Pham Van Bach intersection has also been closed to serve the construction of Pham Van Bach underground station.
Metro No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) will be started in January 2026. The project has a total investment of more than 55,000 billion VND, using city budget capital.
The metro line is nearly 11.27 km long, of which about 9.3 km is underground and about 2 km is elevated. The entire line includes 10 underground stations, 1 elevated station and a depot in Tham Luong.
From Ben Thanh station, Metro Line 2 passes through 14 wards including Ben Thanh, Ban Co, Xuan Hoa, Hoa Hung, Vuon Lai, Nhieu Loc, Tan Hoa, Tan Son Nhat, Bay Hien, Tan Binh, Tan Son, Tay Thanh, Tan Son Nhi and Dong Hung Thuan, before ending at Tham Luong depot.
In the early stages of operation, the route is expected to use a 3-carriage train, with a maximum speed of 80-110 km/h, and a transport capacity of about 14,400 passengers/hour/direction.
According to the plan, Metro Line 2 will be completed and put into operation in 2030. When put into operation, the line will form a large volume public transport axis, connecting the central area with the Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, and at the same time contribute to reducing traffic pressure on existing routes.
