Ho Chi Minh City residents join hands to donate blood to save lives at the end of the year
On December 21, hundreds of people responded to Red Sunday - Blood Donation to save lives.
And this morning alone, the program collected nearly 300 units of blood. This blood source will be transferred to the blood storage centers of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Dr. CKII Dao Van Sinh - Head of the Ministry of Health's Office in Ho Chi Minh City, the end of the year and holidays and Tet are always the time when the health sector faces serious anemia. The reason is that the number of traffic accidents and household accidents is often increasing, leading to a sudden increase in the demand for blood transfusion at hospitals. Meanwhile, the source of blood donated from the community has decreased due to people being busy with holidays, returning to their hometowns or temporarily suspending daily charity activities. Currently, this area has become an ideal community activity spot for local people. The water is cleared, the stone embankment is solid with a green tree system, and a clean brick walking path, completely replacing the previous scene of slums and polluted waste. See more...
