Ms. Le Thuy Hang (resident of Thu Duc ward) said that around 5-6 am, the temperature dropped significantly, feeling colder than in previous days. “This morning I went to work early and had to put on a shirt, my hands and feet were cold, so I slowed down to drive to avoid the cold, the feeling is very different from the usual weather of Ho Chi Minh City,” Ms. Hang shared.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Minh Toan (resident of Dien Hong ward) shared: "The weather is cool and pleasant, but it is quite cold in the early morning and at night, while it is hot during the day, so I have to pay attention to dressing warmer to avoid catching a cold.
At about 7 am, mobile phone weather applications recorded temperatures in Ho Chi Minh City at 17 degrees Celsius.

Mr. Le Dinh Quyet - Head of Forecasting Department, Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that the cold air mass continues to strengthen and spread deeply to the South, mainly dominating the weather in the Southern region. Notably, cold air combined with the effect of clear skies at night will cause the temperature to continue to decrease tonight and early tomorrow morning, causing a chilly feeling at night and early morning; especially in the Northeast region, there are places with cold weather.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the lowest temperature may drop to 17-18 degrees Celsius in some communes and wards such as Di An, Thuan An, Thu Dau Mot, Bau Bang, Dau Tieng, Phu Giao. Meanwhile, wards in the central area such as Saigon, Cho Lon, Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Binh Tan, Tan Binh and communes and wards in the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau area have common temperatures of 20-21 degrees Celsius.
This temperature is likely to remain in the night of the 9th, early morning of January 10th. The highest daytime temperature fluctuates around 29-30 degrees Celsius.
In the following days, the cold air mass will gradually weaken. The weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South is generally cloudy, no rain at night, light fog in some places in the early morning, sunny and dry during the day. Temperatures tend to increase again both during the day and at night.
Upper easterly wind disturbances are completely weakened, off-season rain ends. Around January 11, cold air is forecast to strengthen again.
