Nguyen Khoi Bridge and Road Construction Started in November 2025
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board), the Nguyen Khoi bridge and road project is in the process of completing procedures, expected to start construction in November 2025 and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Currently, the Traffic Department is selecting a contractor to design. The start date will depend on the progress of compensation, site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure.
The project implements compensation, support and resettlement in District 4 with a total cost of about 1,000 billion VND. A total of 147 cases were affected (including 21 organizations and 126 households), of which 12 households had to be completely relocated.
The Traffic Department has advanced VND929 billion for District 4 to implement the payment, expected to hand over the site in October 2025.

In terms of scale, the project will build a bridge nearly 2.6 km long, crossing Te Canal and Ben Nghe Canal, connecting District 7 - District 4 - District 1, with a cross-section of 6.5m to 25.5m.
At the same time, the project also includes: The bridgehead road is more than 1.1 km long (from 6.5m - 35m wide); Nguyen Khoi service road is 626 m long (26.5 - 30 m wide); the service road on both sides of Hoang Trong Mau Street is 222 m long (9 m wide on each side); and the expansion of Vo Van Kiet Street towards Ben Nghe Canal is 863 m long (47.8 - 63.5 m wide).
The total investment is more than VND 3,724 billion. The project is expected to form a traffic axis in the North - South direction, creating a smooth connection from District 7 to the center through the overpass and Vo Van Kiet axis. Thereby, contributing to reducing pressure on overloaded routes such as Nguyen Huu Tho - Kenh Te bridge, Duong Ba Trac, Nguyen Tat Thanh...
Binh Tien Bridge and Road to start construction in early 2026
The Binh Tien bridge and road project is also being accelerated to start construction in the first quarter of 2026, according to the latest direction of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc.
The project has been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for investment since April 2025 with a total capital of nearly 6,300 billion VND.
Of which, compensation, support and resettlement costs account for more than VND 2,878 billion; construction and equipment costs are about VND 2,264 billion; the rest is for consulting, management and contingency.
Binh Tien Bridge and Road is 3.66 km long, all built on high ground in the form of overpasses, the road surface is 30 - 40 m wide, meeting 4 - 6 lanes.
The route starts from Binh Tien - Pham Van Chi intersection (District 6), crosses Vo Van Kiet Avenue, Tau Hu Canal, Cay Sung Street (District 8), Doi Canal, Ta Quang Buu Street and ends at Nguyen Van Linh Avenue (Binh Chanh District).
In addition to the main route, the project also builds branches connecting to important routes such as Vo Van Kiet, Binh Dong, Hoai Thanh, Ta Quang Buu and Nguyen Van Linh.

Currently, the connection between the central area of Ho Chi Minh City (District 1, 5, 6) and the South (District 7, 8, Binh Chanh District, Nha Be) depends on a number of axes such as Nguyen Huu Tho, Duong Ba Trac, Pham Hung, National Highway 50... However, these routes are often congested during rush hour.
Expected to be completed by the end of 2027, Binh Tien Bridge and Road will become a new focal axis, not only reducing the load on the South but also enhancing connectivity with large urban areas such as South Saigon, Hiep Phuoc and Ring Roads 2, 3, 4 in the future.
