On September 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center informed that the city will open 2 new non-subsidized bus routes including route No. 179 (Vinhomes Grand Park area) and route No. 180 (Vinhomes Grand Park - City Center).
The two routes are operated by VinBus Ecological Transport Service Co., Ltd., using VinFast/GreenBus electric buses with 67 seats.
Route 180 connects the Eastern area with the center of Ho Chi Minh City
Electric bus route No. 180 has a route from Depot VinBus Grand Park to Me Linh Square, directly connecting Vinhomes Grand Park urban area with many important areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
From Vinhomes Grand Park, the route passes through Nguyen Xien, Nguyen Van Tang, Le Van Viet, Vo Nguyen Giap, Saigon Bridge, Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Huu Canh, Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Du, Hai Ba Trung, Le Thanh Ton, Dong Khoi, Mac Thi Buoi and to Me Linh Square.
In the opposite direction, buses operate according to corresponding connecting routes.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, route 180 helps strengthen public transport connectivity between Vinhomes Grand Park and Le Van Viet area, Saigon Bridge, Vinhomes Central Park, Ba Son and the city center area.
Route 179 serves the Vinhomes Grand Park internal area
Bus route No. 179 has a closed route, connecting Anh Sang Park with residential areas and utilities in Vinhomes Grand Park urban area.
The car departs from Anh Sang Park, passes through routes M1, D2A, N2, D5, Cau Vong, Anh Dao, V3 and returns to road M1 to return to the starting point.
The opening of route 179 is to meet the travel needs in the inner area, helping people connect more conveniently between residential areas, utilities and functional areas of Vinhomes Grand Park.
Two electric bus routes 179 and 180 will start operating from October 5, 2026.
According to the ticket price policy, from October 1st to the end of December 31st, 2026, passengers are exempt from tickets when using services on both routes.
From January 1, 2027, ticket price policies are applied to each group of passengers. Subjects include people with meritorious services to the revolution, people with disabilities, people aged 60 and over, children under 6 years old and people with Public Transport Cards issued by competent authorities are exempt from tickets.
For students, the ticket price is 3,000 VND/trip or 108,000 VND/month, with no limit on the number of trips within 30 days.
Regular passengers traveling route 179 pay 5,000 VND/trip for half the route and 10,000 VND/trip throughout the route.
For route 180, the ticket price is 10,000 VND/trip for a quarter of the route, 20,000 VND/trip for half of the route and 40,000 VND/trip throughout the route.
Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, the commissioning of 2 electric bus routes is expected to contribute to expanding the public passenger transport network, increasing connectivity between Vinhomes Grand Park and the East and center of Ho Chi Minh City, and creating more choices for travel by modern, electric vehicles.
